COTTONDALE, FL – James F. Pippin, 70, of Cottondale, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2024 in Dothan, AL.

James was born May 12, 1954 in Marianna to the late Jake and Ida Lou Pippin. After high school James joined the United States Navy and went to work at Abitibi in Blountstown soon after. He later became a correctional officer and retired with ACI after 25 years of service.

He was always a wealth of knowledge and had a huge heart. He enjoyed fishing, old westerns and guns. He especially enjoyed Cowboy Action Shooting.

James is preceded in death by his wife, Eliza Ann Pippin, who he cared for during her illness. He is also preceded in death by his daughter, Sherri Bush; a stepson, Richard “Ricky” Rowley and a sister, Susan Pippin.

Survivors include his son, Chris Bush and his wife Karen of Cottondale; a brother, Allen Pippin and his wife Mindy of Mobile, AL, a sister, Barbara McDaniel of Altha; his grandchildren, Amberleigh Miles and her husband Jeremy, Rebecca Adams and her fiancé Mario Parrilla, Sierra Bush and her fiancé Carson Stoke, David Bush, Corey Rogers and James Johnson; her great-grandchildren, Annabelle, Emilia, Harrison, Brooklyn and Jaxon along with a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family.

A memorial service to honor James’ life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 21 at Adams Funeral Home with Rev. David Goodman officiating. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the services.

Adams Funeral Home of Blountstown is in charge of the arrangements.
