Jerry Wilmer Daniels
BLOUNTSTOWN, FL – Jerry Wilmer Daniels, 79 of Blountstown, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2024 at his home.
Jerry was born in Bonifay to the late Ovid Daniels and Orblee Henderson.
Jerry came to Calhoun County in 1974 as a coach for the Blountstown Tigers. He spent his 37-year career as a teacher in the classroom, a coach on the field and a mentor in the lives of the many kids that participated in the football, baseball and basketball programs at Blountstown High School. Jerry was an avid golfer and loved bird hunting, fishing and hunting and mostly spending time with his grandchildren. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Blountstown.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Jim and Paul Daniels.
Survivors include his wife Joan Daniels and his son, Lou Daniels and his wife Carla and his grandchildren, Autumn, Paisley and Jep Daniels.
A memorial service to honor Jerry’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 25 at the Blountstown First Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Rhodes officiating. There will be a time of visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. at the Church on Thursday.
In honor of Jerry’s years of love and service to the youth in our community, in lieu of flowers contributions can be made in Jerry’s name to First Baptist Church Youth.
