BLOUNTSTOWN, FL – Loran Dean Tyre, 47, beloved husband, Daddy, and friend to many, of Blountstown, passed unexpectedly on May 10, 2024 in Blountstown.
Loran “L.T.” was known for his kindness, hard work, big contagious smile, as well as being quite an athlete and avid card player.
Loran attended Blountstown High School where he played basketball, baseball, football, and was very popular amongst his peers . Loran was known for being the star kicker for the Blountstown Tigers throughout his high school years. After graduating in 1995, he went on to earn his AA degree at Chipola College in 1997. From there he went on to graduate from Florida State University’s college of business in 2001 with a bachelor’s degree in management information systems.
After college, Loran went on to work with the Department of Health in Tallahassee, followed by teaching and helping coach basketball at his alma mater, Blountstown High School.
Loran also worked at Subway for several years where he met his wife Janie in 2013. Many may also remember Loran for his fast-paced walking and big smile around Ramsey’s Piggly Wiggly for many years where he was the store manager. At the time of Loran’s passing, he was employed with Buffalo Rock Pepsi, where he has been for the past two years. No matter where Loran worked, he was always a valued hard worker and took pride in all he did.
Loran’s hobbies included taking frequent trips to Biloxi with his wife, where he was an avid poker and blackjack player. He also enjoyed fantasy football, playing basketball, chess and scratch off tickets. but above all, Loran’s sweetest and most meaningful hobby had become being a true definition of a daddy. For the past 2 ½ years he and his wife, Janie have enjoyed raising Little River together. In 2021, they became relative caregivers; then continued to receive their level 2 foster license and have since fostered several children in their home.
Loran is preceded in passing by his father and mother, Dean & Marion Tyre and an infant son, Abel Tyre.
He is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Janie Tyre; a special little boy, King River; stepdaughter, Delayna Dalton (Robert McCullen); stepgrandson, Jonah; sister-in-law, Marilyn and her sons, Jacob (Jessie), and Samuel; great niece, Zelda and brother-in-law Bobby, all of Bristol; his sister Lynn of Blountstown; a niece Jessica of Tallahassee along with many friends and coworkers who will miss him dearly.
A visitation time will be held at 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 21 at Adams Funeral Home in Blountstown.
