GRAND RIDGE, FL – Mackiel “Mack” Lollie, 86, of Grand Ridge,  passed away peacefully on August 12, 2024 in Dothan, AL. 

Born on October 7, 1937, in Blountstown, he is the son of the late Bill Lollie and Louise Cook Lollie. 

A proud and beloved community member, Mack was known for his generosity, courage, and friendliness.  Mack’s life was marked by his loving devotion to his family and friends. He is remembered with great love by his five children: Richard Lollie and his wife Kim, Victoria Ericksen, Lonnie Lollie, Billie Lollie, and Joe Lollie, all from Grand Ridge. Mack’s legacy will continue to flourish through his 18 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Mack is also survived by his siblings, Billy Wayne Lollie and his wife Lonnie of Grand Ridge, Jackie McCroan of Cypress, Ronnie Lollie and his wife Debbie of Marianna, and Roger Lollie of Grand Ridge. 

His life was enriched by the company of numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom will dearly miss his robust presence.

Before his passing, Mack encountered the sorrow of saying goodbye to several cherished family members. He was predeceased by his son James Maxwell Lollie; his siblings Merle Whitfield and Lynda Harrell; and brothers-in-law Henry McCroan and Silvester Harrell, along with his son-in-law Kenneth Ericksen and a great-grandson, Aaron Lollie.

Professionally, Mack was recognized for his dedication to his work as a mobile home mover for 35 years. His hard work, perseverance, and integrity made him a respected figure in this trade.

Mack’s faith played a central role in his life. He belonged to the Cypress Baptist Church, where he served and participated in community activities, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Mack’s departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his enduring spirit and the memories he created will continue to bring solace and joy to the lives he touched. He will be remembered as a man who lived life with open arms, always ready to embrace, support, and guide with his wisdom and warmth.

A graveside service was held in Carpenter Cemetery Aug. 14 with Rev. Bill Mayo and Rev. David Sheppard officiating.

Arrangements were handled by McAlpin Funeral Home.
