Marie Skinner
WEWAHITCHKA, FL – Marie Skinner, born in Wewahitchka on July 14, 1948, passed away on Dec. 6, 2023, in Atlanta, GA.
She was the daughter of Harry and Nellie Richards Shuler. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Albert Edward Skinner Jr.; and her sister, Chiquita Jacobs. Marie is survived by her husband Albert E. Skinner Sr., of Bristol; her daughter-in-law Lisa Skinner; brothers Jessie Odom and Peggy of Hosford, Hilson Skinner of New Brockton, AL and William C. Skinner of New Brockton, AL; sisters Emma Jean Davis of Savannah, GA, Loretta Turner and James of Midland City, AL and Dee Wieszalki and Bruce of Newton; her grandchild Valerie Lemon and four great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Barbara Judah of Cantonment  and Loise M. Drinker of Mobile AL.
Marie dedicated much of her life to serving others as a missionary with Assemblies of God. She was a member of the Ma-Chis Lower Creek Indian Tribe in Alabama. Marie had many hobbies which included singing, playing the accordion, cooking, bowling, and fishing.
Services were held at Evangel Church in Marianna Dec. 14. Â Interment followed at Nettle Ridge Cemetery in Blountstown.
In lieu of flowers, Sis. Skinner (Pretty Woman) requested that donations be made to the Christmas Stocking Fund that they have worked so diligently to develop for the children on the reservations. These donations may be sent to their working account at Assemblies of God U.S. Missions (Account Number 2256774-09-Christmas Stockings) or mailed to Project Hope, P.O. Box 457, New Brockton, AL 36351.
All arrangements are under the direction of Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown.
