KINARD, FL – Marion Norman Pickron, age 72 of Kinard,  passed away Monday, Sept. 11, 2023 at his home.

Norman was born on Jan. 5, 1951 in Port St. Joe to Jimmer Lee Pickron and Louella (Pitts) Pickron and had lived in Kinard most of his life.

He had many careers, beginning  with basic training for the Army. Norman also worked in the log woods and enjoyed driving the trucks, which lead him to eventually working for the Calhoun County Road Department for many years.

Norman loved to make people laugh and to be around his grandchildren. Most of all, he loved his wife Priss, who was his best friend for over 38 years and the love of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmer Lee Pickron and Louella (Pitts) Pickron; wife, Mary Elizabeth Pickron; two brothers, Jimmer Lee Pickron Jr. and Tommy Lee Pickron and one sister, Wanda Sue Vickery.

Survivors include one daughter, Veronica Pickron; brother, James Howard Pickron; sister, Barbara Vickery; five grandsons, Tristan Randall Wood, Travis Lee Wood, Iain Trace Pickron, Hunter Lee Moore and Ethan Wyatt Pickron; two granddaughters, Corey Annabeth Tre’Leigh Pickron and Serenity Vickery; one great-grandson, Asher Laine Pickron, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving family.

Services were held Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023 at Harbor of Refuge Lighthouse Church in Wewahitchka with Pastor Rhonda Strickland officiating. Interment followed  in Cypress Creek Cemetery in Kinard.

 All arrangements are under the direction of Marlon Peavy at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown.
