MARSHA STRICKLER SCHMIDT STITELER
TALLAHASSEE – Marsha Strickler Schmidt Stiteler, beloved mother, and grandmother, passed away on July 24, 2023, after a brief illness. She was 79 years old.
Marsha was born on September 3, 1943, in Monee, IL, to Peter and Delores Strickler. After graduating from Crete Monee High School in 1961, Marsha married her high school sweetheart, August F. Schmidt, on June 4, 1961. Together, they embarked on a journey that took them to Clearwater, where they built their home and welcomed three children into the world.
The family relocated to Key Largo in 1976. Marsha was a homemaker for many years while helping her husband manage their family window tinting business. She later worked for TIB Bank, starting as a teller and then moving her way up to branch manager. Marsha was active in the Order of the Eastern Star, an avid square dancer, and involved in her children’s many activities.
After her husband’s death in 1990, Marsha married Ronald Stiteler of Clarksville on September 7, 1993. She was an active part of the Clarksville community until her second husband’s death in 2017, when she relocated to Tallahassee to be close to family.
Marsha’s memory will forever be cherished by her three children: Todd Schmidt and his partner, Kevin Shoemaker, of Tampa; Shane Schmidt and his wife, Jane, of Lynn Haven; and Kelly Sciba and her husband, Timothy, of Tallahassee. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Brian and Katie Sciba of Tallahassee and Zachary Schmidt of Lynn Haven. In addition, Marsha is survived by her brother, Peter Strickler, and his partner, Sandra Nelson, of New Port Richey.
She touched the lives of many other family members, dear friends, and her beloved pets, who will
all deeply mourn her loss.
