Richard H. Miller
TALLAHASSEE, FL – Richard H. Miller’s adventure began on Jan. 7, 1944 when he was born to Lillian and Joseph “Dick” Miller in Tallahassee.
Richard attended Leon High School and on his 17th birthday joined the United States Air Force where he served with honor and distinction. With an acumen for engineering and mechanics, Richard served his country in the Philippines and Okinawa while growing his family, his faith, and lifelong friendships.
Richard’s love for adventure and the ocean started in the South China Sea where he became a Master Diver, a passion that continued throughout his life. Upon his return to the States he couldn’t pass a spring, a river, or his beloved Gulf of Mexico without wanting to explore its depths and secrets.
Richard was never one to be idle and upon returning to civilian life he continued to excel as he graduated Phi Kappa Phi from Florida State University. His career with the State of Florida deepened his love for North Florida. Ever the entrepreneur, Richard’s lifelong dream was to be his own boss. He owned several businesses in communication, building, and real estate.
Richard is preceded in death by his mother, father, brother Johnny Miller, youngest son Travis Miller and grandson Jeffrey Miller. He is survived by his children Cyndee Miller Harding (Lynn) of Arizona, David Miller of Crawfordville, Jared Miller (Lisa) of Crawfordville, Candice Miller Thompson (Bill) of Tallahassee, Derrick Miller (Sabrina) of Tallahassee, and Jessica Miller Outlaw (Mitch) of Tallahassee, 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He passed away on Dec. 19, 2024 in Singapore, his last adventure.
