Robert “Bob” William Henry Sr.
ALTHA, FL – Robert “Bob” William Henry Sr. passed away peacefully on Sept. 23, 2023, at the age of 62 at his home in Altha. He was born on Sept. 26, 1960 in Camden, NJ to his beautiful mother, Joyce Shirley Henry, and his late father, Thomas William Henry Sr. from Cherry Hill, NJ.
Bob is survived by his loving devoted wife, Ann Henry, of Altha; his siblings, Thomas Jr (Marie) Henry from Maple Shade, NJ, Danny (Vickie) Henry from Mount Holly, NJ, Dennis Henry from Maple Shade, NJ, Shawn (Karen) from Maple Shade, NJ, and Joyce (Tim) McHale from Maple Shade, NJ; his children, Renee (Steven) Heath from Clarksville, TN, Zack Pitts from Kinard, Crystal Brangan from Panama City, Paula (Tony a.k.a. “Tone”) Sims from Kinard, Angel Henry from Maple Shade, NJ, and Mary Henry from Wilmington, DE; along with several grandkids, great-grandkids, nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father and his son, Robert William Henry Jr.
Bob served in the Navy from 1980-1983, securing a spot on a recovery boat, courageously saving the lives of others out at sea. He also served as chef. After his time in the Navy, Bob pursued a jack-of-all trades career, taking on many handyman projects, with one being a ‘precious metal collector’. He also generously donated his time at the local food bank and was always being eager to help others. Bob was referred to as “35”. In his free time, he enjoyed catfishing, a hobby that brought him great joy, and resulted in him getting the nickname “Daddy Catty”. He was also a big fan of the Philadelphia Eagles.
Bob cherished family gatherings, where he would cook out and watch his grandchildren run around with a smile on his face. He was a true family man, known for his devotion to his wife, children, and grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Oct. 15 at 2 p.m. at the Blountstown River Landing. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the account set up at Ameris Bank in Blountstown, under the names of Aurelia Henry and Paula Sims.
