Robert Yon
ALTHA, FL – Robert Yon, 85, of Altha, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2024 in Blountstown.
Robert was born March 20, 1939 in Blountstown, to the late Edward and Ivory Yon.
Robert joined the United States Air Force straight out of high school and served for 20 years. After his military service he worked as a truck driver and was an avid reader. He also loved fishing in his spare time and watching game shows in the evenings.
Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lizzie Yon; a daughter, Debra Baggett; his brothers, Donald and Aaron Yon as well as a daughter-in-law, Angela Yon and Sarah Jane Yon.
He leaves behind his sons, Michael Yon and his companion Delores, Chris Yon and his wife Lori and Mark Yon; his daughter, Sandra Lynn Jacobs; an ex-daughter-in-law, Lisa Brown; his brothers, J.W. Yon and Hoyal Yon; 11 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.
Services to honor Robert’s life will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday May 29 at Sunny Hill Cemetery with Rev. Michael Morris officiating. Interment will follow.
