Roy Lamar “Fatcat” Flanders
ALTHA, FL – Roy Lamar “Fatcat” Flanders, 60, of Altha, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2024, in Marianna. Roy was born Dec. 17, 1963, in Albany, GA to Felix and Helen Flanders.
He worked as a welder. He was an avid outdoorsman; hunting and fishing anytime he got the chance. He enjoyed people and sharing stories and especially his Aunt Juanita Chance’s coconut cake.
Roy is preceded in death by his father, Felix Flanders, and his dog Rusty, who loved jumping in the back of his truck any time Roy had an errand to run.
He is survived by his mother, Helen Flanders; his cousin, Debbie Griswald and her husband, David; his closest friend, Brian Keith and his wife Patty and several other cousins, family and friends as well as his dog Daisy.
Services to honor Roy’s life will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 16 at Adams Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Hagan officiating. Interment will follow in New Shiloh Cemetery near Altha.
There will be a time of visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. After the services all friends and family are invited to a reception at Hasty Pond Baptist Church fellowship hall.
