Ruby Revell

BRISTOL, FL – Ruby Leona Pitts Revell, 95,  passed away on Nov. 25, 2024. She was born to the late William Dotson and Fannie Dyer Pitts on July 25, 1929 in Greensboro.

She was married to Russell Stephen Revell Sr. for 74 years.  They attended Tennessee Temple University together and after completion, she served as a pastor’s wife for many years in Wyoming, Colorado, Indiana and Florida.  She typed all of his sermons, produced the church bulletin and planned church activities.   She also taught Sunday school, children’s church and was a Pre-K teacher.  In all of the churches that they served, she was dearly loved by all and was known for her sweet smile. She was also a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She loved to make crafts, fish with her husband, and preserve vegetables from their huge garden and according to her children and grandchildren, she was a great cook. She also loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her three children,  Steve (Mirna), Nancy Beam, and Teresa Hardy, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. 

Family will receive friends on Monday, Dec. 2 from 5 -7 p.m. at Bevis Funeral Home, 200 John Knox Road in Tallahassee.

Services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Lake Mystic Baptist Church in Bristol.  Todd Wahlquist with Bevis Funeral Home is assisting the family with their arrangements.
