Stephen Edward “Fireball” Roberts
ALTHA, FL – Stephen Edward Roberts, also known as “Fireball”, age 54, of Altha, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2023 in Tallahassee.
Fireball was born on Dec. 7, 1968 in Blountstown to C.J. Roberts and Jeanne (Chance) Roberts.
He worked as a corrections officer for the State of Florida until his retirement. Fireball loved hunting and fishing, Gator football, the outdoors, his fruit trees, and growing plants. He was a member of Pine Grove Freewill Baptist Church for many years and was of the Baptist faith.
Fireball was preceded in death by his parents, C.J. and Jeanne Roberts; his paternal grandparents, Jesse and Ivy Roberts; and his maternal grandmother, Margie Duncan.
He is survived by his brother, Jimmy Roberts and wife Lunden of Altha and his sister, Kelli Odom of Altha; many cousins, nieces and nephews including Joshua Odom, Cassie Roberts, Margie Swearengin, Loretta Swearengin, Kasey Roberts, Jesse Roberts, and Morgan Morris as well as several great-nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Fireball’s life will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. CT at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel in Blountstown with Cheryl Norris officiating. Memorialization will be by cremation.
All arrangements are under the direction of t Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown.
