Terry Howell McDaniel
WEWAHITCHKA, FL – Terry Howell McDaniel, age 75, of Wewahitchka, passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by family on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2024. He was born November 11, 1948 in Lisenby Hospital, Panama City, FL.
Terry retired from the city of Port St Joe after 30 years of service, beginning his career with the Wastewater Treatment plant and retiring as the Superintendent of Public Works.
He was a lifelong resident of Gulf County, passionate about fly fishing in the Deadlakes, hunting in Kinard, and driving his tractor around the yard. His kind spirit and willingness to help others offered a great sense of humor which led to plenty of laughter and jokes. Terry was devoted to his family and loved the time he could spend with them creating memories. Solving the world’s problems was his “specialty” if you were willing to sit on the back porch and listen.
Terry is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Howell and mother, Minnie Ola McDaniel and nephew Tranuam Howell McLemore.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Pamela Cash McDaniel; his four children, Christy Griffin (Kevin), Kendra McDaniel, Kara McDaniel, and Bo Jackson (Ginger); grandchildren, Morgan Gouldburn (Andy), Madison Griffin, Augustus Griffin, Kayla McDaniel, Cole Jackson (Tina) and Kelley Jo Jackson; great-grandchildren, Julia and Josie Jackson; his siblings, Ward McDaniel (Lesia), Penny McLemore (Charles), Dixie McDaniel, and Larkin McDaniel (Angie); five nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 2 at 11 a.m. CST at Westside Baptist Church in Wewahitchka with Rev. Derrick Gerber officiating.
The family will welcome visitation and host a fish fry in Terry’s honor immediately following the service at their home. All family and friends are welcome to attend.
