Addisyn Shuler receives Patriots Pen Award

Addisyn, Shuler, an eighth grader at Hosford School, received the Veterans of Foreign Wars award for the best Patriot Pen essay for the 2022-23 competition.  The awards ceremony took place at Hosford School on Wednesday, May 24.  Addisyn was awarded a certificate and a check for $150 by the local Apalachee Valley Post 12010, Veterans of Foreign Wars, VFW, Commander Heber Meeks.  Allison was also awarded the District 2 certificate and check for $150 for being  the top awardee for District 2, which includes seven VFW posts in the panhandle.  The annual essay contest is open to all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders each year.
