Pedestrian killed on
US 90 Friday night
near Grand Ridge
GRAND RIDGE – A 48-year-old Sneads man walking along U.S. 90 just after 9 p.m. Friday was killed when he was hit by a pickup up truck.
The truck was eastbound on Hwy. 90 near Mayo Road with three occupants, all from Grand Ridge. The driver was a 34-year-old male. His passengers included a woman, 30, and a 15-year-old boy.
The right front of the truck hit the pedestrian and knocked him onto the south grass shoulder of the road, according to the report from the Florida Highway Patrol. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Jackson County EMS.
The truck came to a stop on the south paved shoulder of the highway.
FHP was assisted at the scene by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson County Fire and Rescue and Jackson County EMS.
