Trevor Alan Ferguson
Trevor Alan Ferguson, 77, passed away unexpectedly at Shady Grove Methodist Church on Wednesday, Sept.27, 2023.
Alan was born in Northern Ireland to James and Mary Simpson Ferguson on Nov. 4, 1945. He was always proud of his Irish roots. He came to the United States when he was 19 years old and joined the US Navy, serving four years.
He was called into the ministry in 1996 and served at Chumuckla Methodist Church. Alan went to Asbury Seminary in Orlando. He then served several churches in Alabama before coming to Springfield Methodist Church as pastor where he served 10 years. He was presently serving as pastor at Grand Ridge Methodist Church and Shady Grove Methodist in Grand Ridge. He served as Chaplain at the Correctional Institution in Panama City. Alan was known for counseling with people in need and was passionate about the truth of God’s Word. Alan was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be very missed by all his loved ones.
Alan is survived by his wife, Garilyn; sister, Olive Graham; daughter, Kristen Bain; four sons, Steven, Matthew and Andrew Ferguson and Aaron Burdon; and four grandchildren, Devon, Thomas, Jordan and James.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Calling Ministry, Johannes and Lena Ebner, Missionaries at P.O. Box 450476 Kissimmee, FL 34745.
Services will be Monday, Oct. 2 at 12 p.m. CT at the Peavy Funeral Home Chapel in Blountstown. Interment will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery in Grand Ridge.
All arrangements are under the direction of Marlon Peavy at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown.
