Motorcyclist injured after
making U-turn in front
of oncoming car Tuesday
HOSFORD, FL – A Panama City man was thrown from his motorcycle when he pulled into the path of an oncoming car around 1 p.m. while attempting a U-turn Tuesday, Oct. 8 on SR 20, west of Bernice Lane near Hosford.
The westbound motorcyclist was traveling in front of a Toyota Camry driven by a Longwood woman with two adult passengers.
According to the report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the motorcyclist pulled onto the side of the road after his hat flew off. He then attempted to make a U-turn across SR 20, pulling out in front of the oncoming car and colliding with the left side of the vehicle.
The motorcyclist was ejected and the bike slid onto the shoulder of the road. The car came to a stop in the westbound lane.
The motorcyclist was transported to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
