CALHOUN COUNTY – Lindsey Beam has been named Teacher of the Year for the Calhoun County School District.

She received her Associate of Arts degree in general education at Chipola College in 2008. She then went on to earn her Bachelor’s of Science degree for elementary education in 2010, also at Chipola College.

Lindsey was named Calhoun County Teacher of the year for her outstanding commitment as a leader and teacher. She is described as “extremely disciplined, intelligent, sincere, hardworking, competitive and very motivated.”

A teacher and leader is someone who affects student outcomes in classrooms beyond their own. Lindsey is the teacher that goes above and beyond to meet her students’ needs. Whether it’s going to their house during Covid quarantine to help them or working one on one with them during her free time, she is always there for them.

On a daily basis, she videos her lessons so students can listen to it again if they struggle with homework once they get home. This is beneficial for the students and parents. Most days of the week, she is still at school working long after time to leave.  The school staff agrees that, “She does everything in her power to give her students her very best!”
