BLOUNTSTOWN – Mozelle’s Liquors store clerk Dawn Reisoglu was behind the counter, chatting on the phone with a friend, when a man walked in around 1 p.m. this afternoon and pointed a gun at her.

“Give me all your money,” he demanded.

She thought it was a prank and responded, “Are you for real?  Are you robbing me?”

“Yeah. I’m serious,” he said, and repeated, “Give me all your money.”

She hit the button, opened the register and began to remove the money from the drawer.  At that moment,  the power went out.  That startled them both.

She said the robber stepped back toward the door and swung it open as if to make sure he wasn’t locked in. The power then kicked back on.

Then he turned back toward her.  “He reached over, snatched the money out of my hand and took off,”  she said, and then added that he took off so quickly, “he left his shoes behind.”

She came out from behind the counter and went to the door to see where he had gone.  “I went to the door and watched him run down the road,” she said.  “He turned around and looked at me before he went around behind the old Swampy Tonk bar.”

She speculated that someone may have been waiting there to pick him up.  She said tracking dogs followed his trail from the store but lost the scent at the old bar.

He got away with “about $500”, she said.

The robber was difficult to describe, but she told investigators that he was a young white male.  “He was totally covered up, but you could see his eyes and see that he was young.”

Law enforcement officers arrived at the liquor store, located at 21193 NE SR 69, to talk with the clerk and try to pick up the suspect’s trail.  The search is continuing this evening.

Anyone with information about the robbery is urged to call the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office at (850) 674-5049.
