Wewa woman critically
injured in Calhoun crash
CALHOUN COUNTY – A 51-year-old Wewahitchka woman was critically injured after she lost control of her pickup truck while traveling south on SR 71 near Carlos Peavy Road around 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
According to the FHP report, the driver was coming into a left curve but then traveled off the road and onto the west shoulder. The vehicle crossed both north and southbound lanes before it overturned onto the driver’s side.
The driver, who was traveling alone, was not wearing her seatbelt, suffered severe injuries when she was ejected from the truck.
She was transported to Bay Medical by ShandsCair.
