James “Jim” Harrell
QUINCY, FL – James “Jim” Harrell, 54, passed away on Friday, Dec. 22 in the comfort of his home with family at his side. He was born on Feb. 27, 1969 in Blountstown.. He was a graduate of Rickards High School, Class of 1987.
Jim had a passion for history and Civil War reenactments. He was a proud member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. Jim enjoyed attending livestock shows with his two daughters as well. It brought back memories of when he was young, raising hogs with his father.
Jim was a grocery manager at Winn Dixie for many years. After that, he worked as a vendor/route manager for the remainder of his career. Jim met the love of his life, BJ, at Winn Dixie. It was love at first sight. Together they had two children, Zipporah and Carolina.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Bronzie Lee and Eva Mae Harrell, and his brother Bronzie “Buddy” Harrell. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Bamala “BJ”; two daughters Zipporah and Carolina; two granddaughters Paisley and Adalynn; two sisters Beverly and Mary and four brothers, Jerry, Mickey, Corbett, and Greg.
Services were held Dec. 27 at Thomas Memorial Church. Interment with military honors followed at Hillcrest Cemetery in Quincy.
Charles McClellan Funeral Home of Quincy was in charge of arrangements.
