Annie Faye Goodman
WHITE CITY, FL – Annie Faye Goodman, age 98, of White City, passed away Sunday, Feb. 11, 2024 in Tallahassee.
Faye was born on Aug. 10, 1925 in Blountstown to Solon Sible Bridges and Viola (Ricks) Bridges and lived in Calhoun and Gulf Counties for most of her life. She retired from the Western Auto in Port St. Joe.
She enjoyed growing her gardens and citrus trees, singing in the church choir, baking pound cakes, and cooking Sunday dinner. She was a member of the White City Baptist Church.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Marion Goodman, Jr.; son, James Solon Goodman, Sr.; daughters Janet Christian Roberts and Linda Dianne Keith; her brothers, Charles Rayford Bridges and Fred Leo Bridges; her sisters, Lilla Christine Downing and Sybley Viola McClellan.
Survivors include five grandchildren, Melissa Goodman Meadows (Byron), James Solon Goodman, Jr. (Erika), Bruce Dale Evensen, Jr. (Laura), Cassandra Goodman Leach (Stephen), Teresa Evensen Guthrie (Shane); ten great-grandchildren, Cody Meadows, Jack Goodman, Kaitlyn Evensen Puckett (Fallon), Angie Evensen, Ashlin Evensen, Austin Leach, Parker Leach, Chelsea Hawkins, Makayla Hawkins, Bryce Hawkins (Catelynn); three great-great-grandchildren, Mateo Hawkins, Tucker Hawkins and Oliver Hawkins.
Services will be held Friday, Feb. 16 at 2 p.m. (ET) at White City Baptist Church in White City with Reverend Nick Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Nettle Ridge Cemetery in Blountstown.
Visitation for family and the public will be held from 1 p.m. (ET) until service time at 2 p.m. (ET).
All arrangements are under the direction of Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown.
