TALLAHASSEE, FL – A 53-year-old Bristol woman sustained minor injuries and her seven-year-old passenger escaped harm when they were part of a three-vehicle crash early Thursday morning in Tallahassee.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 16-year-old girl from Tallahassee told an FHP Trooper that she was distracted and failed to see a school bus ahead that had stopped with its emergency loading lights on at 6:27 a.m. Thursday at SR 20 and Pond Pine Street.
The girl’s eastbound Mitsubishi Outlander ran into the rear of a Toyota Tacoma driven by a 23-year-old woman from Tallahassee who had stopped and was waiting as school children were boarding the bus. She received minor injuries.
The impact then pushed the truck into a third vehicle, a Hyundai Kona, driven by the Bristol woman.
The school bus was not directly involved and none of the children were injured.
The teenage driver also had minor injuries.
Troopers had traffic flowing after pushing the damaged vehicles off the roadway. The scene was cleared by approximately 7:30 a.m.
