JACKSON CO, FL – Two people from Godfrey, IL were seriously injured Wednesday after the driver lost control of their pickup truck, which was pulling a camper as they traveled through Jackson County.

The pair were going west on I-10 in the outside lane at 11:20 a.m. when the truck and camper began to leave the road, traveling in a southwest direction.

The driver – identified as a 61-year-old man – overcorrected in an attempt to return to the road.  That action cased the truck to begin rotating clockwise, at which time the attached camper overturned onto its left side on the interstate.

The truck started going northwest, leaving the road and then overturning on its left side near Mile Marker 139.  The vehicle and the attached trailer came to a stop north of I-10, facing east.

The driver and his 69-year-old female passenger were taken from the scene by emergency helicopter to an area hospital.
