ALTHA, FL – Sylvia Gail Mears, 74, of Altha passed away Saturday, July 6, 2024.
Gail was born at home on June 4, 1950 to James Paul and Georgia Lee Thomas of Altha.
She enjoyed working in her garden and watching the birds and butterflies. She also enjoyed watching her favorite TV shows along with any movies or shows that her son and daughter gifted to her.
Sylvia was a member of Sunny Hill Pentecostal Church. She loved her daily Bible reading and sending up prayers for family, friends, and loved ones. She also immensely enjoyed singing hymns and praises to the Lord.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, James Paul and Georgia Lee Thomas; sister, Georgia Faye Schoen; brother, James Larry Thomas; and her son, who she greatly missed, James David Henderson.
She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Tim Mears; son, Allen Henderson and daughter, Belinda Thompson (Matthew); brothers, Roger Thomas (Gidget) and Gene Thomas.
She will be interred at Sunny Hill Community Cemetery. The family will hold a private celebration of life.
All arrangements are under the direction of Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown.
