James Mackan
LONDON, OH – James C. Mackan, 72, of London, died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2024, in his residence.
Born March 31, 1952, in Marion, OH, , he was a son of Edgar D. and Betty (Hall) Mackan.
James retired as a quality control Technician from Time Warner Cable and had been a firefighter with the Mossy Pond Fire Department in Altha, FL.Â
A member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, where he belonged to the Knights of Columbus, James was also a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. James was a Gunners mate on the USS Coral Sea.Â
He enjoyed watching cowboy movies and The Ohio State Buckeyes.Â
James was a loving husband, father and brother.
He is survived by his wife Virgia (Pennington) Mackan, sons James Mackan of Las Vegas and Timothy (Jessica) Mackan of London; grandchildren Hannah (Hayden) Vasey, Katherine, Matthew and Madilynn Mackan; great granddaughter Iyla; siblings Teresa Hazlett, Timothy Mackan, Mary Mackan, Christopher Mackan, Andrew Mackan and Glen Heskett; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Michael Mackan, sister Patrica Klein-Mackan and brother-in-law Barry Hazlett.
Per James’ wishes, cremation will take place with no services being observed.
