Two injured when car crosses
into oncoming lane and hits
Liberty County school bus
BRISTOL, FL – Two people were seriously injured when a 21-year-old Bristol woman traveling north on NW CR 12 crossed into the oncoming lane and hit a southbound Liberty County School bus just before 7 a.m. Friday.
The driver’s 2012 black Hyundai passenger car collided with the front bumper of the school bus, driven by a 55-year-old Bristol man with two passengers, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The injured bus passenger was identifed as a 35-year-old woman from Bristol. A second passenger, a six-year-old Bristol, girl, was unharmed. The report noted that both the bus driver and the woman driving the car that hit the bus were wearing their seat belts.
The Liberty County Sheriff’s Department, along with both Liberty and Calhoun County EMS as well as local fire departments, assisted FHP at the scene.
Shortly after the crash, Liberty County School Superintendent posted a message online to report that there were no life-threatening injuries, those hurt were taken to a hospital and “Everyone is OK.”
A second bus was sent to complete that morning’s route.
