BLOUNTSTOWN, FL – The Woman’s Club of Blountstown honored our veterans with a wonderful luncheon on Sept. 24 at the Rivertown Community Church in Blountstown. They dined on beef tip with rice, green beans, corn casserole, rolls, cake, and coffee or tea.
Eric Daniel, County Service Officer spoke about the various programs and services that are available to veterans and their dependents. Â Colors were presented by Doyle Combs, Commander, Ray Weidner, Vice Commander and Dick Stanley, Chaplain of the American Legion. A POW/MIA Remembrance Service was observed.
All veterans attending received door prizes and a gift bag.Â
The eldest attending veteran was 101-year-old Owen House, who served in World War II. We had several Vietnam and Korean vets along with others representing all branches of service.
The club thanks Jackie Southwell, Chairman and her committee for a beautiful job and wonderful event.
