CALHOUN COUNTY, FL – A head-on collision Monday morning left two people critically injured and one in serious condition after a 7:05 p.m. crash on SR 20 near Reeder Road.
The Florida Highway Patrol reports that an Altha man, 33, and an 11-year-old girl were traveling east on SR 20 when their pickup truck was hit by an oncoming car driven by a 29-year-old Panama City woman.
The car was westbound on SR 20 when it crossed the center line and veered into the path of the eastbound truck. After impact, the vehicles came to a stop in the road, obstructing both lanes.
The young girl suffered critical injuries and was taken by helicopter to Tallahassee Memorial. The Panama City woman, who was also critically injured, was taken by ambulance to Bay Medical Center. The Altha man, who was reported to be in serious condition, was flown to Bay Medical.
Florida Highway Patrol, the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, Carr-Clarksville Fire Department, Calhoun County EMS, Survival Flight and Airheart #2 responded to the scene.
