Trooper’s patrol car
hit in three-vehicle
crash in Marianna
MARIANNA, FL – An FHP trooper was treated and released with only minor injuries after being involved in a three-vehicle collision in Marianna today, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
The trooper was traveling north on Jefferson Street, south of Davis Street, around 9 a.m. in his marked patrol car when a westbound 2018 Chevrolet Silverado stopped at the intersection of Jefferson Street. At the same time, a 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling south on Jefferson Street, north of Davis Street.
The Silverado driver – who later said that he thought the intersection was a four-way stop – began traveling forward. He drove into the path of the patrol car, causing it to hit the left side of the Silverado.
The impact sent the Silverado into a spin, causing it to collide with the front of the Tahoe. The Silverado continued over the curb where the left rear collided with a utility pole on the northwest corner of the intersection.
A fellow trooper took the involved trooper to the local ER where he was treated and released. No other injuries were reported in the June 18 crash.
