Pedestrian dies after
being run over by
three vehicles early
Monday morning
GRETNA, FL – A 66-year-old Gadsden County man died early Monday morning after he collapsed on US 90 and was run over by two school buses and a Midway Police patrol vehicle.
According to the FHP report, the pedestrian fell partially in the road around 5:56 a.m, west of Ash Avenue in Gretna, before being hit by three vehicles.
The first vehicle to strike the fallen man was a school bus driven by an 84-year-old Quincy woman, followed by a Midway Police SUV that was driven by a 27-year-old Quincy man. The third vehicle was another school bus, this one driven by a 56-year-old woman.
The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
FHP was assisted at the scene by the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Department, Gretna Police Department, Gadsden County EMS, Midway Police Department, Quincy Police Department, Gretna Fire Department and the Midway Fire Department.
