QUINCY, FL – A 56-year-old Quincy man was killed after losing control of his pickup truck Saturday afternoon in Gadsden County.

The fatal crash happened at 2:36 p.m. on US Hwy. 90 at SR 267.  The driver was traveling with one passenger, identified as a 68-year-old woman, also of Quincy.  Unlike the driver, she was wearing a seatbelt and escaped with minor injuries.

The truck was traveling west on US Hwy. 90 in the outside lane, approaching the intersection of SR 267 when he lost control as he went through the intersection and traveled onto the north shoulder.  The pickup struck several fixed objects.

The vehicle continued in a northwest direction before coming to final rest partially on the north shoulder and partially in the CVS parking lot.

The driver was transported from the scene to HCA Florida Gadsden Emergency by Gadsden County EMS, where he was pronounced deceased.

The Florida Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by Gadsden County EMS, Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office, and Gadsden County Fire Rescue.
