BLOUNTSTOWN, FL – Edith Louise Robinson, 85, born to Lloyd George Bailey and Margaret Anne (Moredock) Bailey May 7, 1938 at her grandparents’ home in Sheridan, IN,  passed away on March 27, 2024.

Edith, also known as Louise and Edie, was raised in the Christian faith and graduated from Sheridan High School. She worked for several different businesses as an administrative clerk and customer service representative, with her time at Gates Rubber Company and the friendships developed there being most memorable. She was also an enthusiastic and successful Tupperware and Avon salesperson.

She was raised with her brother, George Stewart Bailey (deceased), at the Blackhawk Airport in Sheridan. They grew up in and around planes, taking flying lessons at early ages (16 and 15) from their father, Lloyd, and with support from their mother Margaret, who also had her pilot’s license. Her travels took her from Indiana to California, and after several years, back to Indiana, before she moved to Blountstown, where she lived for 36 years.

Louise had a sweet countenance with friends and caregivers, a quick sense of humor, and enjoyed reading and word games, tackling her word searches every day. Her real passion was Elvis Presley; she collected his music and memorabilia, which she proudly displayed in her home. She loved riding her scooter down to the Calhoun County Senior Services for lunch, attending holiday parties, and playing bingo games. She thoroughly enjoyed the friendships that she made and was grateful for the care and kindness of the staff, volunteers, and community.

Edith is preceded in death by her parents; her brother; her son, Glen Stewart Kalman; grandson Tyler Kalman; husbands Charles Eugene Blackstone, Jr., George Kalman, Jim Garrigus, and Don Robinson (also of Blountstown);her cherished dogs, Bootsy, and Myah and countless numbers of dear extended family members and friends.

Louise leaves behind her children, Teresa Blackstone (Michael) Gerringer of Eastsound, WA, David (Tina) Kalman of Sheridan, IN, Sheryl (Bob Setty) Venola of Kokomo, IN, and Susan Leal of Queen Creek Arizona; grandchildren Stephen Tucker, Kimberly Leal, Tuli Venola, Kaitlyn (Brandon) Pickett, Mackenzie (Logan Peoples) Gerringer, Megan Kalman, Kristina Kalman, and Madison Gerringer; her great-grandchildren Bella Madrigal, Meric Flacks, Eugene Pickett, and Eber Pickett, and her beloved dog, Rusty.

A graveside service will be held at Pine Memorial Cemetery in Blountstown April 3 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dustin Malphurs officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service starting at 10 a.m.

All arrangements are under the direction of Marlon Peavy at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown.
