Church welcomes home Rev.

Eddie L. Yon for Annual Family

& Friends Day this Sunday, Jan. 25

BLOUNTSTOWN, FL  – Saint Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church is preparing to host its Annual Family and Friends Day Worship Service on Sunday, Jan. 25 at 11 a.m., welcoming home native son Rev. Eddie L. Yon as the guest speaker.

Rev. Yon was raised in Blountstown, graduated from Blountstown  High School, and grew up worshipping at St. Paul AME Church, where he remains deeply connected to the church and surrounding community.  He is the son of the late Virginia Yon and George Yon, husband of Dr. Veronica Adams Yon, and the proud father of four children and one daughter-in-law.  He is also the brother of Sonja Robinson and the nephew of Laura Yon.

Currently, Rev. Yon serves as the Founder and Senior Pastor of Restored Glory Christian Center (RGCC) in Monticello, a ministry he established on  April 15, 2007, alongside his wife, Veronica. Known for his strong commitment to community outreach, Rev. Yon leads the annual Wham Bam School Jam, a signature event that provides hundreds of backpacks and school supplies to students in the area.

A US Army veteran, Rev. Yon holds a master’s degree in Management Information Systems from Nova Southeastern University, earned in 2016.  in addition to his pastoral work, he is the President and owner of Elyon Technologies Inc., an information technology-focused company.

Rev. Yon is also an accomplished author.  His faith-based publications include Baby Ethan’s Getting Better Every Day (2021), a memoir detailing his family’s journey of faith during a medical crisis, and The Maker’s Dream and the Ol’ River’s Scheme (2023), a poetic, Bible-based book written for readers of all ages.

Saint Paul AME Church, lcoated at River Street in Blountstown, FL, invites the entire Blountstown community and surrounding areas to attend this special service.  The theme for the day is “Building Family and Community  Through Love.” Worshippers are encouraged to wear a touch of red, symbolizing love and honoring the Blountstown Tigers.

“This is more than a homecoming,” church leaders shared. “It is a celebration of faith, family, and community.”
