reunion before LCHS
Homecoming Game
BRISTOL, FL – A Homecoming Reunion is planned for the Liberty County Class of 1976 the afternoon before this year’s Liberty County Homecoming Game, which will be held on Friday, Oct. 23.
Class members will gather in the School Board Meeting Room in the school administration building on SR 20 at 3 p.m. to enjoy some time catching up and sharing some special memories of their Bicentennial Graduation Year.
Guests are asked to bring a dish to share with the group. Everyone is urged to return to the football field that evening to cheer on the Bulldogs. The home team will take on Jay High School at 7:30 p.m.

Gate dedication Saturday
at Magnolia Cemetery
BLOUNTSTOWN , FL – The community is invited to join the caretakers of Magnolia Cemetery for a Gate Dedication ceremony on Saturday, Sept. 6 at 2 p.m. The cemetery is located in Blountstown, off SR 20 near Tatum’s Hardware, and can be accessed by following 13th or 14th Street to the end. Refreshments will be served.

Tiger’s Table returns
on Thursday, Sept. 17
BLOUNTSTOWN, FL – Blountstown High School’s Culinary Class, The Tiger’s Table, will be serving its first luncheon of the school year on Thursday, September 17, 2026 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the culinary dining room on the BHS Campus.
The three course meal will consist of:
Choice of Appetizer:
* House Salad with House-Made Pepper-Jelly Vinaigrette or Ranch
* Three Cheese Spinach Dip with Tortilla Chips
* Bloomin’ Onion Petals with Spicy Bloom Sauce
Entree’:
* Alice Springs Chicken
* Loaded Baked Potato
* Steamed Broccoli
* Roll
Choice of Dessert:
* Chocolate Thunder From Down Under
* Carrot Cake
* Chocolate Chip Cookie Skillet with Vanilla Ice Cream
The cost of the meal is $18 and reservations must be made by Thursday, September 10. Due to spacial restrictions, we will be capping the reservations at 200. Get ready for Goat Day
& Pioneer Day Oct. 17
BLOUNTSTOWN, FL – Enjoy two events in one when Sam Atkins Park hosts the annual Goat Day around the park walking track and Pioneer Day at the adjoining Panhandle Pioneer Settlement on Saturday, Oc. 17. Gates open at 8 a.m. CT.
Local kids will be showing off their goats and vying for honors in the goat judging contest. There will be plenty of vendors offering a variety of goods, including baked treats, cold drinks, home decor items, holiday ornaments, stuffed toys for kids as well as clothing and jewelry. The Rotary Club’s red, white and blue train will give visitors a chance to get off their feet and see all the sites as they ride around the grounds and view all the vendors’ sites.
Take a walk along the bridge over the pond into the Panhandle Pioneer Settlement and tour the many historic old homes and buildings on the grounds. Be sure to take a look around the Settlement Store and do some early holiday shopping.
Local band Flabbergasted will provide music throughout the day.
A total of 125 vendors took part in last year’s event, which is sponsored by the Blountstown Rotary Club. Funds raised provide scholarships for local students.
