BRISTOL, FL – The Renner for Governor campaign made several stops through the Florida Panhandle early last week, visiting firefighters in Marianna, courthouse employees in Blountstown and the staff of the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office in Bristol as well as greeting customer at local coffee shops.

Paul Renner began the four-day swing on June 2 in Bonifay before making his way through Calhoun and Liberty counties, then on to Quincy before finishing the night in Crawfordville during his Renner Rural Values Tour.
“Florida’s rural communities are the best of what our state has to offer,” the Republican candidate said. “In rural Florida, values like faith in God, love of family, and pride in country are not talking points, they are a way of life passed down from generation to generation. These communities feed our state, power our economy, and preserve the freedoms and traditions that make Florida unique.”
Renner pointed out that most rural first responders face extra challenges, with communities like Marianna and Blountstown being an hour’s drive from larger hospitals. “They don’t have the facilities for more serious conditions and have to do more than the typical paramedic has to do in larger communities.”
He is concerned about teacher pay, noting the shortage of pay raises for educators in areas like Washington County, where “their county didn’t have the money.”
When asked about establishing data centers in Florida, his response is a quick “hard no.”
Renner, a US Navy veteran, is a former prosecutor and business attorney. He began his legal career as an Assistant State Attorney. Raised in northeast Florida, he was elected to the Florida House in 2015 and was term limited in 2024, after serving the last two years as Speaker of the House.
He, his wife, Adriana and their two children, Abby and William, live in Flagler County.
